Pearl Ava Marshall, daughter of Avery Fairchild and Fannie May (Kelly) Marshall, appears on the 1920 Federal Census in Afton, Ottawa County, Oklahoma (enumeration district 104). Seven year-old Pearl reported that she and her mother were born in Oklahoma and that her father was born in Missouri.
She appears on the 1930 Federal Census in Afton, Ottawa County, Oklahoma (enumeration district 2), living with her parents and giving her age as 17. She reported she was born in Oklahoma, that her father was born in Missouri and her mother was born in the Cherokee Nation.
Pearl married Verez Eshmel Warren, son of Floyd Lester and Ollie Annette (Anderson) Warren.
Her obituary appeared in the April 24, 1988 edition of the Miami News Record, Miami, Ottawa County, Oklahoma. She is buried in the Fairland Cemetery, Fairland, Ottawa County, Oklahoma.

Alvin Eugene Marshall, son of Avery Fairchild and Fannie May (Kelly) Marshall, appears on the 1920 Federal Census in Afton, Ottawa County, Oklahoma (enumeration district 104), living with his parents. That census shows five year-old Alvin and his mother were born in Oklahoma and that his father was born in Missouri.
He appears on the 1930 Federal Census in Afton, Ottawa County, Oklahoma (enumeration district 2), living with his parents and giving his age as 15. He reported he was born in Oklahoma, that his father was born in Missouri and his mother was born in the Cherokee Nation.
Alvin married Hazel Rogers, daugher of William and Arizona (Taylor) Rogers. Together they had two children.
Alvin served in World War II in the United States Army (service number 38575981). He was residing in Fairland, Ottawa County, Oklahoma at the time of his mother's death in 1961 (according to his mother's obituary).
His obituary appeared in the December 23, 1997 edition of The Grove Sun (Grove, Delaware County, Oklahoma). He is buried in the Fairland Cemetery, Ottawa County, Oklahoma.

That census shows she was born in Oklahoma, that her father was born in Missouri and her mother was born in the Cherokee Nation.
She married Charles Oliver Burckhalter, son of Frank and Tom (Cannon) Burckhalter in 1940.
Ruth submitted the following information for the book "Fairland Remembered 1889-1989:"
"Ruth May Marshall, daughter of Fannie and Ave Marshall, was born in Fairland, Oklahoma. She graduated from Fairland High School and the Miami Beauty College, Miami, Oklahoma. August 14, 1940 she married Charles Oliver Burckhalter, a native of Vinita, Oklahoma. Charles is owner of the Burckhalter Funeral Home in Vinita. They have three children, James Marshall, John Charles and Jane Ann...Ruth and Charles are active members of the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Vinita, and in civic organizations."

Edna Mae Sparkman, daughter of A. H. and Anna (Crotzer) Sparkman, married William Franklin Marshall, son of Avery Fairchild and Fannie May (Kelly) Marshall.
She is mentioned in the book "Fairland Remembered, 1889-1989:"
"Edna Sparkman was born June 28, 1908, and has lived her entire life in Ottawa County. She is the daughter of A. H. (Gus) and Anna Crotzer Sparkman, both pioneer residents of the Fairland community. Her maternal grandparents were R. H. (Dick) and Fannie Todd Crotzer, early settlers of the Prairie City-Fairland area. Her paternal grandparents were George Washington and Zorado Adock Sparkman who moved to the Grove-Fairland area from Cassville, Missouri, when her father was a small boy. She is a member of the Loyal Shawnee Tribe and is on the Dawes Commission Roll.
"Edna graduated from the eighth grade at the Pleasant Valley School and entered the Miami High School, graduating with the class of 1926. She received her B.S. degree from Northeastern Teachers College at Tahlequah. Her 44-year teaching career began with teaching 3 years at Pleasant Valley School, then several years at South Fairview and North Fairview. She then entered the Miami School System teaching at Pershing, Will Rogers and Nichols before retiring 1973.
"She is a life member of the National Teachers Association and a member of other state and county teacher organizations. She is also a member of the Kappa Kappa Iota Sorority. She has done volunteer work for numerous organizations including being a Cherry Red at the Miami Baptist Hospital."
Her obituary appeared in the November 24, 1993 edition of the Miami News Record, Miami, Ottawa County, Oklahoma. She is buried in Fairland Cemetery, Fairland, Ottawa County, Oklahoma.
