     Joseph P., known as Squire Joseph, was a Justice of the Peace in Christian County, Illinois, and performed many of the marriages for couples who migrated from Kentucky to Illinois. Together with Nathaniel Painter (a brother-in-law) and "Old Grandfather Durbin" (thought to be Joseph Senior), Joseph P. migrated to Illinois in 1829. [Durbin-Logsdon Genealogy]
